Used solar panels

Anyone interested in some used PV panels? I'm looking at some that were originally rated at 280 watts. Used panels can be expected to produce at least 80% of their rated power for at least 8-10 years. New panels usually price out at about a dollar per watt of output.

I'm considering getting a pallet or two shipped here from the recycler. What would you offer for a unit? I don't know what my cost will be as yet. It will depend on how many I buy. Ballpark is around $65 ea. after transportation costs are added in

With the prices of the safe version of LiPoFe battery cells falling, the availability of plans and the ease of building a d.i.y. battery bank, and given our sun's approaching solar max (currently four CME's from flares yesterday are on the way arriving sat. and sun.) being capable of generating one's own power independent of the elec. grid looks to be a smart move.

The inverter/charge controller is about the only component of a grid independent power system that you need to buy new. If you have a back yard that gets sun, you don't need to roof mount your collectors. Set up a cheap ground mount or just lay them flat.

The same company has 315 watt panels that are nearly identical. They are $10 more.

I will be making the trip to Indiana in about a month.
