I'm offering to teach beginning through intermediate guitar, beginning through intermediate percussion (full set or rudiments), beginning ukulele, or beginning bass guitar. All lessons tailored directly to the individual, including song preferences, etc.

I've been teaching 4 kids for a couple years now, one on ukulele, one on drum set, one on guitar, and the last on both bass and guitar. I play all of these instruments myself, with the exception of bass (the early levels overlap enough with guitar).
While I can do purely traditional instruction, I recommend a different approach than most instructors for children: lessons augmented with Rocksmith 2014. It's not a complete replacement for an instructor, by any means, but is incredibly valuable to help run practice sessions between lessons, when adults aren't directly available to supervise. It also let's you stretch lessons out to longer intervals and save some money in the long run. I'm happy to answer questions, as it's a VERY different approach than most are offering.
Traditional instruction. Ukulele starting as young as 5.
Adults, teens, and exceptionally driven older children have additional options with self-study, YouTube instruction videos, Yousician, etc. that I can accommodate.
I've also got the models for all the good child-sized guitars and bass guitars that will work, and willing to help with instrument selection/setup. Adults/teens and ukulele players have a lot more equipment options, but I'm willing to help with that selection and instrument setup as well.
BTW, If you're looking for fingerstyle instruction, a strong focus on lead melodies, or tapping instruction, I'm definitely not the right teacher for you!
I'm willing to travel locally, or you can come to my house in Eaton Rapids (disclaimer: a very friendly Labrador Retriever WILL check everyone out). If the student is a minor, an adult MUST be present, please.
If you are interested, please reply with your name/number/availability, and I'll give you a call back. All prices will be very competitive, but we need to discuss what you are looking for before we can agree on a study plan and associated quote.
Note: If cash is just too tight, but a kid needs lessons, I'm also willing to trade services (ex. lawn mowing, brush removal, etc.).
